Gunner raised an eyebrow skeptically at her. She was pretty, he'd give her that much, but there needed to be more than a pretty face to phase him. He'd be more difficult than the awkward boy thick in his stutters. Although he was sure she found how easy he was 'charming.'
"S'cuse me. Just looked like you were a little... Busy." was all he said, cramming his hands in his pockets, board secured against his arm, and gave her a bland stare. His response didn't sound very questioning or apologetic however. She was going to have to try harder if she expected a reaction from him. That wasn't to say he wasn't willing to give her one if she earned it.
"S'up man." He returned to the more shy boy, with an understanding shrug. It was casual, but friendly enough.

"Not much. Just kinda... lost." Valentino replied. His expression changed slightly in to a frown when Valerie referred to him as 'sweetie'. He hated that nickname, and it looked as though she was only two years his senior so... he was a bit skeptical on whether or not that pet name was appropriate. But he could deal with it. After all, he hadn't introduced himself yet. That would change after a minute or so, though. Valentino was about to try and get to know the trio just a little better. But first, it seemed like his hair had become the topic of conversation for a moment. That was strange. He'd never really thought about where his hair color came from.
"My hair? I dunno. It's always been like this." Valentino explained. Now he could get to know the others better starting with his introduction. "I'm Valentino, by the way." he said.

Out of the corner of her eye, Val immediately registered the look on the dark-haired boy's face. Well, she thought, no use trying to crack him if he wasn't going to play ball. Not when there were other boys willing to give her the attention she deserved, at any rate.
Instead, she continued to move forward toward the red-haired boy, eventually being within touching distance.
"May I?" she said, a request that might have carried more weight had she not, prior to asking, already put her hands through his hair, ruffling it up.
"HOW DELIGHTFUL! I'm a Val too! Mine is short for Valérie though. But you can call me whatever you want, Handsome. As for your hair, however you got it, it works for you. I've been thinking about getting highlights in a similar shade. How do you think it'd look? Passable as pretty?"

Dex bit his lip and breathed. Finally he'd been released from her grasp which caused him to breathe outwards harshly, leaning back on the wall. The dark haired youth wasn't phased by Val's advances, something he couldn't understand. "Not busy," he fumbled, "N-n-n-no, we-we-we were j-j-j-just t-t-t-talking!" He stayed silent while Val flirted with Valentino. His eyes narrowed, though not in jealousy. It was insane watching this girl prey upon them like they were gazelle and she was a hungry lioness. However, he was still powerless. As a geek who's only physical interaction with the opposite sex was an awkward first kiss and maybe, if he was lucky, brushing up against a girl in the hallway, he could not resist her charm. It was a fact of life. He pushed his hair back and took another deep breath, regaining his composure; what little of it he had.
"Hey, Val," Dex said, placing a hand in his pocket, "M-M-M-my name's D-D-Dexter...uh...Dex." He watched Valerie out of the corner of his eye. What was she trying to do?
