{Norma “Blackpaw” Dodger}
{Age/School Year: 16/(don’t know American school systems)}
{If nothing else, Blackpaw’s hair marks her out as distinctive; worn as an intentional mess which is tied back into a ponytail at the back of her neck, it is almost completely white to about half-way down the ponytail, and below that is a very dark brown. It looks almost like a dye job that ran out before it reached the bottom, although Blackpaw swears that her hair colour is natural. She has her mother’s emerald eyes which have a hard, calculating look to them. Her right hand is covered by a black birthmark which is what she derived her nickname from. Blackpaw’s typical style of dress consists of a shirt and a tie (typically white and blue with black stripes, respectively) which, she feels, makes her look intimidating, and shows that she can get things done and shouldn’t be messed with.

{“I could be your best friend. Or your worst enemy. It all depends on which will let me twist you to doing my bidding the easiest.”}
{Mostly, what Blackpaw has inherited is her father’s talent for surviving on the streets and looking out for herself.}
{History: Found on the streets of NYC as a baby with no indication of who her real parents were, and nothing but her first name, Norma was taken in by a gang of older street kids who didn’t really know how to take care for a baby, but managed to do a reasonably good job, regardless. By the time she was 10, Norma had become quite the little thief thanks to skills she’d inherited from her father, and was starting to discover her own personal talent – her manipulative ways. She would start using the other gang members to her advantage, unknowingly use them as bait to lure out anyone who could present difficulties while she walked into the mostly-vacant shops and took the good stuff herself. Soon, she was exercising her controlling nature at every turn, quickly using her manipulations and trickery to put herself at the top of the gang, despite being its youngest member (It was about this time that she took to wearing her current style of dress, which stuck).
Until a few years on, when the rest of the gang figured out what she was doing, how she’d managed to scheme her way to the top and manipulate them into doing their bidding. Understandably pissed off, they retaliated against Norma, turning her methods against her, utterly humiliating her and leaving her in the dust at the bottom of the metaphorical ladder again. Disgraced, Norma abandoned the gang altogether, deciding to take on the streets on her own.
It didn’t go well. Where a gang could pull off a successful robbery, one girl on her own really couldn’t, and it wasn’t long before Norma was landed in jail. It was here that Walt Disney showed up. Initially refusing to believe his ‘load of crap’ – both the fact that her parents were dogs and that she was being asked to attend a school of any kind, let alone such a respected one, but eventually the man won her confidence – a very difficult feat indeed – and with no other real options, she agreed to attend his school.}

{Likes: Blackpaw likes nothing better than being in control, with everyone else dancing to her tune. She enjoys, not only being in control, but being seen to be in control. She also loves ice-cream, which she could be said to have a bit of a weakness for, and is fond of dogs.}
{Dislikes: Getting laughed at or humiliated in any way, being all alone (although she would never admit that one), people messing with her appearance, living indoors}
{Fun Facts:
- Blackpaw doesn’t necessarily believe that she’s the child of cartoon dogs, but with no evidence to the contrary, is prepared to go along with the idea for now anyway.
- Blackpaw refuses to go by her human name anymore. Norma sounds like ‘normal’, something which she is determined she isn’t. The name ‘Blackpaw’, while not entirely imaginative, was derived from the black birthmark on her hand, and the fact that she should have been a dog, making her hand a paw. She chose the name once she learnt her true ancestry.
- Blackpaw never watched Disney films as a kid, but since discovering her ancestry, has made a point of catching up on them. Her particular favourite, of course, is her dad’s one, although its setting in NYC brings back bad memories of her humiliation.
- After living on the streets for so long, Blackpaw is uncomfortable with the idea of sleeping indoors, and will more often than not go to sleep next to her dormitory window. One time she even tried to sneak out and sleep on the grass outside, but was caught and told not to try it again.
- After finding her ancestry, Blackpaw decided to claim ‘Dodger’ as her surname, after her supposed father, having never known a last name before.
- Blackpaw doesn’t often listen to music, but when she does she will most often be found playing female covers of ‘Why Should I Worry’, ‘Streets of Gold’, or even ‘Once Upon A Time In New York City’, although given how badly life on the streets ended for her, these are kind of bittersweet.
- Blackpaw generally isn’t picky on the matter of food, having just had to eat whatever they could steal on the streets, but she does have a particular weakness for ice-cream.
- Blackpaw is often to be found manipulating her fellow students into doing her bidding; this has almost become a bad habit for her now rather than anything she does with conscious thought.}
{This… this was new. Blackpaw tried not to stare like an idiot at the castle before her that was so different from anything she’d seen back in NYC, but it was hard, and only the fact that she had a reputation to protect kept her jaw from dropping at the sight she was faced with. She’d never seen anything like it. It was…
Utterly ridiculous, honestly. She was willing to go along with the idea of having dogs as parents because she’d never known anything different, but going to school in a castle and taking ‘hero’ classes? It was absurd. Still, it beat struggling on the streets or being stuck in jail, and that was good enough for her. Adjusting the tie she always wore – it did give her the impression of looking confident, in control, she thought, and that was an impression she needed to give now more than ever – the girl took a few steps forward, up the castle’s steps, and into her new life; regardless of how idiotic the whole thing seemed to her.}
