[September 2nd. Closed to Morgan and Mariana.]
Morgan put the last of her DVDs, both Disney and horror, on the pile next to her bed with its brethren and stood up to observe her handiwork. She’d spent the better part of the day unpacking her stuff and was quite pleased with the results. Now all that was left to do was go shopping for her uniform and figure out what the hell to do with her books (she hadn’t had the foresight to bring anything to keep them).
Well, maybe not all that was left. Morgan looked at her final suitcase and sighed. She kneeled beside it and lifted a large winter coat to reveal her small collection of plushies – Shere Khan, Kaa, Si and Am, Lucifer, Prince John, Iago, and even Maleficent in her dragon form, all remnants from childhood vacations in Florida’s version of the Happiest Place on Earth. She’d brought them with her purely on instinct – she’d had them for so long, they were practically friends – but now that she was here, Morgan wasn’t sure what to do with them. She was almost positive that most people her age didn’t sleep with stuffed animals – at least, they didn’t advertise it. This wouldn’t be a problem if she had the room to herself, but she was going to have a roommate, and she didn’t know how they would react.
Truth be told, Morgan wasn’t entirely sure how she felt about the situation. Being an only child, she’d never had to share much of anything before, much less a bedroom, and she didn’t even know what her roommate would be like. Morgan didn’t even know her name, never mind if she’d be able to live with her.

This situation seemed to get better and better with every passing hour. First she's the daughter of a couple she thought wasn't even real weeks ago, now she's getting a roommate. Mariana wasn't used to sharing a room with anyone (Like Morgan, she was used to being an only child). Let alone some one she'd never met. What happened if they didn't like each other? What if she got the child of a psychotic villain who wanted to kill her in her sleep?
...Okay that was a bit much. But still, Mariana wasn't the most likeable person around. It wasn't like she was going to be able to avoid her if she didn't like her, they now lived together. These thoughts and more consumed her on her way to her new room. She tightened the grip she had on her suitcase as she got closer to the room. She supposed worrying about it was pointless. It's not like there was anything she could really do.
She braced herself and opened the door. What she saw was a bit of a surprise to her though. She remembered the girl from before, at the front of the school. Though that wasn't exactly the shock, it was all the stuffed characters. She couldn't help the amused smile that crept onto her face, but as soon as it came, it left. Plushies were never something Mariana dabbled in, and it was kind of funny to see a girl her age with so many, but she supposed, for the time being, she could be nice enough to not comment on it.
"So you're my new roomate?" She questioned, placing her suitcase on her own bed. "I think I saw you outside." She stated, mustering up a smile for the sake of being polite. They didn't talk much. As soon as Monet got a hold of her and the other girl, she really didn't have a chance.

Wrapped up in her little dilemma, Morgan didn’t hear the faint click of the door opening until it was too late. Wide-eyed, she quickly turned around and was met with the face of her new roommate. She easily recognized the other girl from her arrival yesterday – it was hard to forget someone who had blue streaks in their hair, and she had made fun of her leather jacket for good measure.
Of course she had. She would have to have gotten off on the wrong foot with her roommate even before she knew who she was.
It suddenly occurred to Morgan that her suitcase was still open, exposing her secret. She hastily slammed it shut and sat on it for good measure, dark eyes narrowing as they caught sight of Mariana’s fleeting smile.
“Well, obviously,” was her cold answer to Mariana’s (rather obvious, in her opinion) question. “Why else would I be here?”
Being caught with her stuffed animals did a cranky Morgan make. It didn’t help that she hadn’t exactly been in the best of moods beforehand either.
“Yes, you did,” the would-be sorceress replied flatly, not interested in playing nice at the moment. She abandoned her suitcase and took a seat on her own bed, more as a show that it was hers than anything else. “My name is Morgan Davis. I don’t think I got yours.”

Her smile fell at Morgan's answer. If she wasn't going to waste time trying to be polite, why should Mariana? She should have figured she'd get an unpleasant roommate. Just her luck. And it was the one who had taken a shot at her style. Not that Mar cared about what people thought of her appearance, but the point still remained. "It's called being pleasant and trying to make conversation." She said with an equal amount of ice in her tone. "Nice stuffed animals, by the way." she said under her breath with a small smirk. May as well have fun with it, since there was obviously no chance of them getting along for the time being.
She opened her own suitcase and began taking her folded clothes out and placing them on her bed, she'd put them in her dresser as soon as everything was sorted out. "Yeah, you were with that Monet chick." She commented, still only paying attention to her suitcase. When Morgan introduced herself she finally looked up. "Mariana Hawkins." she said as she was asked for her name.
She sighed deeply, taking a seat on the part of her bed that wasn't filled with clothes. "So I guess we're living together now, huh?" She asked. This was going to be interesting, that was for sure.

Morgan’s face twisted into a dark scowl at the crack about her stuffed animals. This was going to be a long year.
“Nice hair,” she hissed back in a voice clouded with venom. “Tell me, were you going for ‘Lost Cause’, or was that just a coincidence?”
It was only after the words were out of her mouth that Morgan realized it would probably be prudent to try and get along with Mariana, if nothing else than because they were being forced to share the same living space and she wasn’t entirely sure they would be able to find other roommates.
“Hawkins.”
She repeated the word slowly when Mariana gave her name. It sounded familiar – very familiar – but for one reason or another she couldn’t quite place it.
“I guess so,” she replied, leaning over and pulling her suitcase of stuffed animals closer – Mariana knew about them anyway, so there was little point in trying to hide them now. “Where are they from? Your parents, I mean? Mine are Jafar and Maleficent.”
Morgan pulled out dragon Maleficent as she spoke and carefully set her near her pillow before going back for the others.

Mariana scowled at her new roommate at the comment about her hair. "Actually I was going for 'girl who doesn't care what other people think' but I didn't expect you to get that." She said with a sneer. That was true for the most part. But mostly she'd dyed her hair because the light teal streaks reminded her of the ocean she so loved. Like Morgan she knew they should try getting along, but a part of Mar didn't want to compromise.
When Morgan repeated her last name she rolled her eyes. She hated referring to Jim and Melody as her parents. But she supposed she had to get used to it at some point. "Jim..." Was all she said. Hopefully that would suffice and Morgan would get it. However, she soon asked who her parents are after saying who hers were. Morgan seemed a lot more proud of her biological parents than Mariana was, though Morgan probably didn't have the same abandonment issues that Mar did. "That explains things." She said in reaction to Morgan's parents. Whether she was talking about the stuffed animals or Morgan's attitude was up in the air. "My 'parents'" she said putting air quotes around the word. "are Jim Hawkins and Melody." She said. "Neither are the most well-known so you've probably never heard of them." Hell, she hadn't either, and she didn't know how big of a Disney person Morgan was."

“If you don’t care, then why are you getting defensive?” Morgan sneered back, settling Iago down next to dragon Maleficent. Deep inside, the tiniest spark of envy was beginning to flare up. Though she tried to convey otherwise, Morgan was the queen of caring what other people thought. Her entire image was (in her mind) perfectly crafted to ensure that no one ever messed with her.
Apparently she was going to need more than that with Mariana.
“Jim…”
It dawned on Morgan soon after.
“Ohhh.”
Of course – Jim Hawkins! Why didn’t I remember that?
She had seen Treasure Planet – one of the few Disney movies she didn’t own – just once, when she was six and her babysitter needed her out of her hair so she could gossip on the phone. Morgan supposed she had liked the movie well enough – she couldn’t remember disliking it, at least, other than Silver’s apparent side change – but it hadn’t really left an impact on her. It was just okay.
“It does, doesn’t it?” Morgan beamed. Unlike Mariana, she was perfectly happy to accept that she had Disney characters as parents. Particularly when said Disney characters were her two favorite villains. “They’re better than Shannon and Matthew at any rate.”
She had just put Si and Am down on the bed when Mariana told her who her parents were – Jim Hawkins and some girl named Melody. Morgan raised an eyebrow. Try as she might, she couldn’t get a mental picture of her.
“Yeah, never heard of her,” was the blunt reply.

"There's a serious difference between caring and just plain not wanting to hear someone talk about it." She said with a roll of her eyes. "I'm not exactly the most patient person in the world so hearing about my hair for the hundredth time from my mother and girls like you get on my nerves." Though Mariana didn't really give a care what other people thought, she did tire of hearing comments about her hair ad the way she dressed. She got labelled as a punk and a goth, most people just stay away, but there were THOSE people who had to say something. She'd long accepted the fact that nobody got her.
"Well you've certainly accepted your fate." She said dryly. Mar wished she could be as accepting as Morgan about this whole thing...not that she'd ever say so aloud. All her life she'd longed to know why her parents abandoned her, if they ever cared for her at all. She'd held such a contempt for the people that left her alone on a strange woman's doorstep that when she found out they were Disney characters none of it made a difference. She couldn't let go of the sense of abandonment she'd felt for seventeen years, even if it wasn't her real parents fault. Besides, she was perfectly content with her adoptive mother. "Shannon and Mathew? They the people that adopted you?" Oh joy, another thing we can disagree about If given the choice, Mariana would choose staying with her mother, over meeting Jim and Melody any day.
She sighed, she knew nobody would know her mother. If she was going to be saddled with Disney parents, couldn't she at least have been the daughter of someone cool?. "Maybe this will help," She began. "Ariel, y'know, the Little Mermaid, is my biological grandmother."

“Girls like me?” Morgan raised an eyebrow at that, looking almost amused. “Is it a crime to be curious about someone’s appearance? I’m no stranger to those sorts of looks myself, you know.”
The looks Morgan got, however, were most likely for different reasons. She liked to dress in dark colors, yes, but in the end it was the fear of her fellow students that kept all eyes on her. Again, unlike her new roommate, Morgan didn’t mind these looks at all. Quite the opposite, rather – they were a sign that things were going exactly the way she wanted them to.
“Why shouldn’t I?” Morgan inquired, dark lips forming a smile. “I grew up loving them.”
At Mariana’s question about her ‘parents’, a hiss of irritation escaped the would-be sorceress and her smile became a thing of the past.
“Legally, yes. Mentally, I’m sure they disowned me a long time ago. Once they realized I wasn’t going to be the pretty little princess they wanted so badly.”
Ariel, huh? Morgan made a face. The redheaded princess was way up there on her “Too Dumb to Live” list. For Mariana to be a descendant of Ariel, the princess would have had to have a child, and for a moment the teenager couldn’t think of anything. Then, from the foggiest corners of her memory, a VHS cover floated to the surface.
Little Mermaid II.
Morgan’s frown deepened. Like with Treasure Planet, she had seen it only once and promptly tried to forget about it. Apparently, she wasn’t as successful as she had hoped.
“Melody?”
