Norma Dodger - or Blackpaw, as she prefered to be called since learning of her suppsoed heritage - wasn't impressed with the concept of a uniform, although not for the same reason as most of the other students she'd been observing in the shop. Blackpaw's typical style of dress consisted of a shirt and tie, so the idea of having to wear one around the Academy didn't bother her.
What did bother her was the fact that everyone else would be wearing the exact same thing. Before, her choice of wearing a shirt and tie had made her out as something of a badass, someone who knew what she was doing and was not to be messed with, but if everyone was wearing the same, that effect was lost. Blackpaw scowled over her shoulder at the girls fussing over sweaters and vests as she looked over the rack of ties. The navy blue was the closest to what she usually wore, so the girl selected a few of them - she wasn't about to risk only getting one and finding she needed spares - which she added to the pack of shirts clasped under her arm, all-but identical to the one she was wearing now, just new, before turning her attention to the sweater vests.
Not that she really cared for them, generally prefering to leave her shirt and tie uncovered, but she might as well pick up one or two, as she wasn't the one paying for them. The mostly-white-haired girl elbowed her way in between two of the other students clustered around, not really giving too much of a damn about what kind of first impression she was giving right now, until she was within reach of the sweaters. Pausing to tighten her own tie - that was one consolation, she supposed, she doubted many of the other students would wear the tie done right up the way she did, so she'd still probably look kind of distinctive - Blackpaw did actually turn to glance over her fellow students. She'd probably be in classes with at least one or two of them, so maybe it would be to her advantage to let them drag her into the conversation for the moment, at least until she'd figured them out.

"Well howdy," Jenna said with a huff, staring after Blackpaw as she shoved her way between the group. A little rude, much to Jenna's dislike, but the girl did glance back even if she wasn't going to apologize. Straightening her sleeveless violet shirt with a tug at the bottom, she waltzed right up to the girl. Nobody could say Jenna wasn't friendly despite having an attitude the size of a Texas Longhorn steer. She placed her hand on her hip, cradling the rest of her outfit she'd picked out in the crook of her arm. "Looks like y'all have got yer outfit all set'n ready." She pointed a finger at the girl's already dressed up attire. Or dressed up in Jenna's mind. The girl's idea of a typical outfit was a T-shirt with a Texas University logo on it and a pair of jean shorts.
"Jenna Maldonia," she said, repeating her name for the four thousandth time that day it seemed, "Please ta meetcha." She turned to look at the girl's ties and shirts and shook her head. "Per'aps y'all c'n teach me how to tie a tie. Ah can't tie one fer beans. Apparently though its a skill every woman should know." She chuckled softly.

Blackpaw glanced down at what she was wearing, realising that, despite the tie not being a regulation one, and her outfit being accompanied by jeans, she probably did look pretty much like she was just wearing most of the uniform already. "Not really. I just wear this normally," she replied dismissively, not caring to go into details of the impression she thought it lent her right then. She grabbed a black sweater from behind her, compared it with the navy tie she'd chosen, decided that the combination was better than having both sweatshirt and tie the same colour and added it to the clothes she was already holding, all the while still looking at Jenna with one eye so her motions shouldn't be interpreted as rudeness. She'd save that for those who she would judge would be most easily bent to her will that way.
"Blackpaw Dodger," she replied, tagging an explanation on the end; "It's a nickname because they say my parents were dogs." She looked mildly surprised at Jenna's request. Not at the fact that the other girl didn't know how to - she doubted many girls ever bothered to learn; she only had beacuse she liked the effect wearing that gave - but the fact that Jenna was actually asking her. It wasn't a great surprise, Blackpaw knew; she didn't have a reputation for being a manipulative bitch best avoided here yet, and she was the only one present who clearly knew how to handle a tie, but still...
"I suppose so," she replied after a pause. This girl, she judged, seemed like the type pretending to befriend would make her a better tool of Blackpaw's manipulations than anything else, and there was a likelyhood if she helped Jenna with the tie, she'd be able to talk some sort of favour in return out of her, if nothing else. "I take it you don't mean now, in the middle of everyone, though," she added, a statement not a question.

"Alexander and Alexis. Nice to meet you two. Name's Twitch." Twitch said. The two redheads didn't seem to bother Twitch that much, nor did the arrival of Blackpaw. It seemed that with all the arrivals their plan of spicing up the uniforms had been forgotten as well. No matter. Twitch would just have to deal with that on his own at another opportunity. But back to the conversation, Blackpaw had introduced herself as well. Twitch couldn't help but smile just a little when she said it was her nickname.
"Good to know I'm not the only one that goes by a nickname rather than a real name. I'm Twitch. It's a pleasure to meet you, Blackpaw." Twitch said. Whether or not the two would get along was up for debate, but either way suited the purple-haired boy just fine. "Anyway, since we're all together I thought maybe we could hang out or something once we're done here. It's probably better than just heading back to school right away, right?" he asked.

"Such foolishness." Odette tapped her brow, huffing as she closed her eyes. "We can't just be expected to be a bunch of babysitters here. I thought we were being taught here. It's a school, right?" She sighed as the subject seemed to change very much from what she had been expecting. It was the two twins and a new person introducing themself as 'Blackpaw', though that seemed a ridiculous name, but not as preposterous as a human claiming to be the child of dogs.
Then again, if she read the letter right, this school would be full of all sorts of ridiculousness, so she had no place to properly judge such a statement as someone stupidly calling themselves a puppy. Not as though there was any real consequence either way. She did seem to share a similar anti-social tendency to herself, though. Maybe Odette could find a strong ally, if she just decided to kick the little weirdo girl out of the way, first.

Jenna chuckled softly. "Nope," she said with a nod, "I'm sure we'll talk later b'fore classes start'n all." Leaning back on a rack of clothing behind her, she looked around at the group that had formed and smiled softly. "Ain't we got a regular little group here?" She dipped her head towards Blackpaw. "Dogs huh? Well, ah knew there'd be some. I buy this whole magic mumbo jumbo, y'know? I'm apparently just like mah Momma." She crossed her arms across her chest, still warily eying Odette. Female was sure there was something shadowy about the girl before her. She just couldn't put her finger on it. Odd.
The silence that followed bothered the 18 year old girl. She huffed and then upturned her mouth in a smile. "How's about we pay fer this stuff'n go get some food, huh?"

Blackpaw shrugged, not liking the feel of being judged that she got from that Odette girl. "That's what they say, anyway. And I never had any real parents, so I don't have anything to lose by accepting it unless I learn otherwise." She added another pair of black sweater-vests to her selection of clothes - never hurt to have spares, she supposed, especially when the Academy was paying for them - then gave a short nod. Jenna's suggestion sounded like as good an idea as any. And - her stomach gave a loud growl, which she scowled at - she was rather hungry. More used to stealing food than paying for it, but since she'd actually got her hands on some money before arriving here, it was just something else, she guessed, that she'd have to get used to.
"That'll work for me," she agreed, shifting through her armful of clothes to check that she had everything. Shirts, ties, sweater-vests... and a skirt, although Blackpaw honestly just planned on wearing her typical jeans, and to hell with the teachers if she got in trouble for that.

Jenna's smile dipped, though not enough to suggest an expression of pity. Though she did feel awful that she'd boasted about her parents when Blackpaw didn't seem to have any. Now she had someone to look up to, didn't she? Despite them being dogs, didn't Blackpaw now have someone to admire and love? Jenna decided to satisfy her concern with that answer before shifting her own clothes to one arm which she plucked a night gown from the nearest hanger. It was black, lacy but covered up enough to not look like a nighty that one would wear to bed for a boy. There was even a tiny green frog on the breast pocket. She hadn't meant to find that but it made her grin grow wider. "Heh, must be fate," she mumbled, draping the night gown over her arm on top of her skirts, sweaters, shirts and ties.
"Alrighty, then," the girl clicked, "Anyone else joinin' me'n Blackpaw at the diner across the road fer some chow?" She started up towards the counter, waiting for the others to follow.

"Very well. I suppose I don't have any better plans for a while, but I doubt I'll eat. I don't have any of those fancy coin purses or dollar bills like folks raised right have." Odette clenched her hands around the clothes she had like a hawk's talons. "The school provides what I'll need, but I suppose that if you're willing to talk to me," she gave a strained smile, "I should at least be neighborly and accept your invitation for now."
She dashed past Jenna to check out first, proving that she was making her own decisions and not just following this stuck up little brat who obviously had a higher living than she had ever personally dreamed. "However, understand that I don't make friends easily."

"I think I'll just pay for....this then go to the academy." Alexis mumbled trailing along the end of the conversation, she didn't really feel like eating. Her stomach was still a little odd from the flight, Alexander on the other hand liked the idea of going off and grabbing something to eat. "Well I think that doesn't sound to bad." he said quietly, at the most maybe he could drag Alexis off to a coffee shop somewhere and con her into eating some chocolate instead of ditching him and their new classmates.

Nikita smiled and nodded. "I'll go, I'm starved." She said. She could sure go for some fries, or at least something to drink. Plus being the social butterfly she was, she loved meeting new people. It seemed everyone was going. Including Odette, who she found a bit odd, but thought nothing of it.
"You should come, it'll be fun!" She said to Alexis, who seemed reluctant to go for some reason. Of course, if she didn't want to she didn't have to. But Niki hated leaving people out. She turned to Blackpaw, who she realized she hadn't introduced herself to yet. "Nice to meet ya Blackpaw, I'm Nikita." She said, adjusting the clothes draped over her arm.
